Furniture Reupholstery

This process can involve a complete strip down and re-build if necessary, using modern and traditional materials, or a facelift recovering the original fabric with new.

If a piece of furniture has a sound frame and is appreciated for its comfort and style, there is no need to replace it, instead have the item reupholstered. It can be significantly cheaper than replacing with new, especially for quality brands of furniture such as G-Plan, Ercol, Minty, and Parker Knoll, you already know that it fits your home and is comfortable.

It is more environmentally friendly than buying new and is far less effort as we come to you! Your furniture will not go to waste and end up in landfill. We offer a collection and delivery service so you will not have to lift a finger. Our network of leading fabric suppliers allows us to offer an extensive range of high quality and durable fabrics all tailor made to your requirements.

How the service works

  1. Decide on the specific job requirements.
  2. Choose a fabric. (You are welcome to visit our showroom and pick a fabric, or alternatively we can arrange for samples to be sent to you direct).
  3. Get a quote. This will be broken down into, labour costs, replacement materials, fabric costs + and any extras.
  4. Pay 50% deposit. Once this is received, we can book you in and arrange for your furniture to be collected at a mutual convenient time and date.
  5. On completion we will call to arrange delivery.

The process

Strip down

Step 1 Strip down

We will carefully strip down your furniture and remove all original fabric.
Frame inspection and repair

Step 3 Springs and webbing

Once we are happy with the frame, work will begin on the springs and webbing. Any springs and webbing that need replacing will be replaced.

Step 4 Rebuild

We will then begin to build the layers back up. Padding and stuffing is checked and replaced where required.
Cutting and sewing

Step 5 Cutting and sewing

Finally, with a frame and padding restored your chosen fabric is measured and cut and sewn to shape.

Step 6 Upholstery

The fabric outer shell is sewn together and fixed to the frame using either traditional or modern methods of upholstery depending on your preference.

“Large 2-seater sofa - strip and recover”

We’re delighted with the job Asnew have done to transform a secondhand sofa we bought from BHF. The whole process took 150 days from initial enquiry to delivered product. Karen was patient and helpful when we visited the showroom to pick out a fabric. We were then given an accurate and realistic estimate of the lead time. They collected our sofa a few days early and returned it within 3 weeks. We’re proud that we invested in these local craftspeople to refurbish an old sofa instead of buying something brand new. We’re so excited to have it back. It brings us so much joy!

“Converting a previously built L shaped sofa to a three seater couch.”

As I was downsizing my home the ASNEW built L shaped which was incredibly comfortable no longer fitted. I requested that ASNEW convert the original piece into a three seater couch. I was highly delighted with the results and would have no hesitation in recommending them for their professional service..

Good local company that really know their stuff. Avoided buying a new suite by replacing the cushions inside the existing leather covers. Excellent liason and company service, reasonable cost and all done on time. Would definitely recommend them. Brilliant alternative to throwing it out and starting again

“To re-upholster a sofa and two arm chairs”

Excellent service, furniture collected early, three weeks quoted for the return, When returned it was covered in plastic to protect it, gentlemen carried it all in and placed it where we wanted it. The finished product is wonderful, firm and comfortable again, just right for relaxing in. Can’t praise them enough.
