Many people think that a broken chair or sofa frame means a favourite piece has reached the end of its life. In reality, often it’s only a repair that’s necessary. We take your furniture, which is then assessed and, if needed, stripped back to the frame and repaired accordingly. Where required, springs and webbing are replaced before reupholstering the piece to its original strength and quality.
When we carry out furniture repairs to antique furniture, we are able to use traditional techniques and materials such as horsehair and feathers to preserve the character and integrity of the original piece, which is also important for maintaining its value. The end result is a piece of furniture that resembles as closely as possible how it looked the day it was made.
